The Korean American Coalition, in conjunction with the US Department of Labor Women's Bureau and the US Department of Labor Employment & Training Administration, held an APA Hurricane Resource Fair on Saturday, November 12, 2005 from 9 AM to 4 PM. The Resource Fair took place at the Korean First Baptist Church, which is located at 11722 Cromwell Drive, Dallas, Texas. The Press Release is available by clicking Here. KAC-DFW coordinated with various federal and stage agencies in order to bring them all together for this one-day event. The Resource Fair focused on providing information on the various resources available to individuals and businesses that were negatively impacted by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita by bringing together these various agencies. In addition, the Fair provided information to business owners regarding opportunities to begin new businesses and/or take part in the relief efforts in the form of potential bidding opportunities. All attendees had the opportunity to obtain this information and ask questions and Asian Pacific Americans were also able to request assistance from volunteer translators, representing a variety of Asian Pacific American languages, including Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu.
